Biography

Hello everyone! My name is Yanira!

First and foremost, I feel so grateful to be considered in being a part of your special journey. If you’ve felt disconnected from the typical birthing experience society has placed upon us, you’ve found yourself in the right place. 

I am Puerto Rican and come from a multigenerational military family. After living out of the country and moving around this one, I settled and was raised in Florida for 21 years. The oldest of three girls, I saw the growth and struggles my mother went through to bring us into the world. She became a mother at 16 and her birthing experiences are ones that drive me to break the cycles placed upon us—especially on people of color.  One of my missions in this lifetime is to change the way our world perceives birth work and go back to our original way of doing. 

I like to describe myself as an herbalist—lover of all things natural from Earth.  With my passion for natural medicine and connecting with others, I hope to help you discover the beauty of labor and what our bodies are capable of doing.
